Brands5/29/2023 ![]() These developments not only explain to viewers the way the world of Bridgerton works but also justify current and future culturally conscious and racebent character casting. White Ton members in particular had to make changes in their mindset and actions. Events such as Lord Danbury mentioning that he was initially denied entrance to the gentleman’s club reveal that equity and inclusion were not an overnight process. Since Bridgerton has fully embraced the theories that Queen Charlotte has possible African ancestry, Queen Charlotte takes time to clarify the Bridgerton season 1 reference to Charlotte and George’s marriage unifying the white members of the Ton and the BIPOC elites. This is why their marriage was arranged in the first place. The concern about King George III and Queen Charlotte having heirs as quickly as possible is also out of history. ![]() However, The conversational references to wars and taxation line up with the Seven Years’ War against the French during this time period and the beginnings of the American Revolution. ![]() ![]() The Dowager Princess Augusta and Lord Bute were prominent figures in the early days of King George III’s reign. ![]() Witchlight jessi zabarsky5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() When Sanja (a good cook and fighter from a family that values boys and violence) and Lelek (a witch! you can tell by the candle over her head!) meet for the first time, assumptions are made, challenged, and eventually the two join forces on an epic quest. The fact that James ignores what would have been normal (to loathe him) in favor of portraying Phoebe as an “old” 34 year old who was just gagging for sex so much she didn’t care that he probably brought STD’s with him was pathetic. I can not even express the feelings of rage I would have had toward Griffin had I been in Phoebe’s shoes. Argh! How I wished she had fallen in love with someone else while he was gone. I guess I was supposed to be feeling their attraction to each other and believe in their love, but I didn’t. ![]() It is just sad to think of her alone for fourteen years while he dipped his wick whenever he felt like it. He had completely abandoned her for FOURTEEN years, screwed around with other women for that whole time, but had the gall to hold a double standard expecting her to remain a virgin.
